Interview with Cátia Reis

How did Luza come into your life and why did you choose us to develop your career?

I was contacted by a special Luza headhunter whom I already knew from a previous company. I was actively seeking new opportunities that aligned with my personal and professional goals because I had returned to school. I accepted the Luza challenge not only because of the project and the people but also because of the flexibility that Luza provides to help me pursue my personal goals. I already feel at home, and my wish is to grow together with the Luza team.

What do you most value in the company and how do you expect to contribute to joint growth? What qualities stand out in you?

I value the transparency and the shared commitment to achieve more and better, always with the help of one another, which Luza provides. I expect to leverage my skills, continuously pursuing the latest updates in the Microsoft world, combining other technologies with BI tools. With that, I would love to add more intelligence and efficiency to my customers' businesses. One of my standout qualities is that when I'm truly motivated, there's nothing that can stop me from achieving a goal or solving a problem. I am a very social person and I love meeting new people, so I appreciate the events sponsored by the company that bring people together, making them very enjoyable and fun.

What is your opinion about remote work and why do you think it is a good option?

Remote work is a great option as it allows for a more balanced personal and professional life. You can choose where to work, where you are most productive, without the obligation to travel far from your home if you don't want to. It's all about flexibility. Of course, if there's teamwork on a particular project and an opportunity to meet in person, we always have the Viseu office. The office has excellent facilities and operates 24/7. For me, it's great because I'm studying, and the office is right in front of my school, so I can manage my time well without worrying about hours.

What are your main functions and skills?

I work as a Power BI specialist, but I'm interested in everything related to data and enjoy investigating and working on it. What I love most about my job is the technical aspect, including ETL, data modeling, and DAX. However, it's crucial to understand the business requirements thoroughly before starting development. So, it's really important to know the 'B' (business) before the 'I' (intelligence).

What project are you involved in and what do you do?

Currently, I'm working on creating a paginated report that provides consumers with an invoice template and the ability to export data dynamically without the need for manual efforts. Paginated Reports are particularly useful when dealing with a large number of pages and details, as they present information very effectively.

How did the onboarding process go?

The onboarding process went very smoothly, always with the understanding that if I need help, I am very comfortable reaching out to the managing partners and my colleagues.

Where do you live and what do you like to do in your free time? Is there any curiosity about you?

I live in Cerdeira, a small village located 42 km away from Viseu city. I love living here because of its proximity to nature. In my free time, I enjoy studying agriculture, reading about the human mind and body, exercising, and spending time outdoors in nature, hiking trails with my friends.

What do you expect from the future?

I expect to continue doing what I love the most at the moment, possibly combining BI with agriculture.

As far as I know, I would say yes, because Luza is empowering people to grow and be happy, creating a truly positive and inspiring environment. Furthermore, the people here are professionals, and everyone is committed to getting things done, which leads to achieving our goals.
