Interview with Cláudia Costa

How did Luza come into your life and why did you choose us to develop your career?

For family reasons, I needed to relocate back to Portugal, which led me to seek opportunities here. When I came across Luza’s opening for a SharePoint developer, I was immediately interested. After applying, I was quickly contacted and began the interview process with the managers. From my side, there was an immediate connection. The open and transparent communication made me feel comfortable and confident in the company's vision. When they extended an offer, it was an easy decision to accept, as Luza’s flexibility and values aligned perfectly with my career goals and personal situation.

What do you most value in the company and how do you expect to contribute to joint growth?

What I value most about Luza is the open communication and collaborative culture with both managers and colleagues. This transparency fosters a positive environment for growth and innovation. On top of that the possibility of remote work was a helping factor since it would allow to balance the personal and professional lives.

I believe my experience in IT and project management, along with my proven ability to deliver results, will be a strong asset to the company. I pride myself on being reliable, meeting deadlines consistently, and staying committed to quality. I’m also a quick learner, and when faced with a challenge, I don’t hesitate to seek out solutions and expand my knowledge. I’m confident these qualities will enable me to contribute meaningfully to Luza’s continued growth and success.

What is your opinion about remote work and why do you think it is a good option?

I believe remote work is a fantastic option, especially in today’s fast-paced and globally connected world. It allows for greater flexibility, which helps in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, something that’s increasingly important. Remote work also removes geographical barriers, giving companies access to a broader talent pool and allowing employees to work from environments where they feel most productive.

From my own experience, remote work encourages efficiency and self-discipline. It empowers me to take ownership of my time and deliver quality work without the constraints of commuting or a fixed location. For companies like Luza, this model enhances employee satisfaction while still driving results, making it a win-win for everyone involved.

What are your main functions and skills?

As a senior project manager, my main functions include overseeing project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope. I am responsible for coordinating teams, managing resources, and ensuring clear communication with stakeholders. 

In terms of skills, I am committed to delivering excellent results, highly attentive to details and an excellent communicator. I take pride in making sure that both the company and the clients are satisfied with the outcomes of my work. I am reliable, responsible, and always strive to exceed expectations. My focus is on delivering quality projects that drive success and client satisfaction.

What project are you involved in and what do you do?

I am currently involved in two key projects. The first is the implementation of a new managed service for Power Apps, aimed at supporting our partner companies and customers. In this project, I oversee the planning, coordination, and execution to ensure a smooth rollout of the service, ensuring that it meets the needs of both our partners and clients.

Also, I am managing a smaller internal project focused on improving the Power App used for managing leaves and vacations. My role here involves refining the app's functionality to enhance efficiency and user experience for the internal team. Both projects provide a smooth integration into the team, offering a manageable level of complexity that allows me to adapt and excel. They serve as a solid foundation, preparing me for more complex and challenging projects in the future.

Where do you live and what do you like to do in your free time? Is there any curiosity about you?

I currently split my time between Lisbon and the Azores, which allows me to enjoy both city life and the tranquillity of nature. In my free time, I love walking my dogs, spending time outdoors, and practicing Pilates and yoga to stay balanced and healthy. I also enjoy riding my scooter and exploring new places, which fuels my passion for travel and meeting different people.

One curiosity about me is my love for both adventure and mindfulness. I enjoy the thrill of discovering new destinations just as much as I enjoy moments of calm and reflection in nature.

What do you expect from the future?

I’m truly passionate about the work that I’m doing, and I feel very comfortable and fulfilled in my current role. I believe I have a lot to offer, and I’m committed to contributing to the company's ongoing success and growth.

In the future, I anticipate seeing the company continue to grow and thrive, and I’m eager to be a part of that journey.
