Interview with Fernando Costa

How did Luza come into your life and why did you choose us to develop your career?

I believe it was an excellent match, not only in terms of the company's culture and values but also because of the period I was going through. I was looking for something to push me out of my comfort zone, away from basic projects with no innovation, and Luza was the key to achieving that. They provided me with ample space for individual growth through certifications and studies, as well as the opportunity to work with cutting-edge innovations and technologies from Microsoft. This contributes to our continuous growth and ensures we are always up-to-date with the latest technologies.

What do you most value in the company and how do you expect to contribute to joint growth?

What I value most about Luza is the horizontal hierarchy, where we all have very easy access to each other. This fosters a more collaborative and participative environment in any decision-making process, showing that our thoughts and opinions are important and considered. I hope to grow and build a real career at Luza by contributing with excellent deliveries and client satisfaction, being a good team player, always ready to help and be helped, and getting to know more about each team member. This creates a more relaxed and enjoyable working environment.

What is your opinion about remote work and why do you think it is a good option?

For me, the calculation is simple. When working in the office, we have to consider several factors that can become tiring and annoying for employees, such as commuting, which can take minutes or hours depending on traffic conditions, and the need to be ready for work sometimes 1.5 to 2 hours before the workday even starts. All these are points to consider, but on the other hand, we must have responsibility and discipline to handle the privilege and trust given to us when hired for remote work.

What are your main functions and skills?

My main skills are related to the Power Platform as a whole. I am an intermediate developer and functional analyst for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. I have almost five years of experience in this field, having worked on various scenarios and different projects. My daily work involves Dynamics 365, Dynamics 2013, Visual Studio (WCFs, Plugins, SSRS), Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages, SharePoint, Customer Voice, JS, Liquid, and several other technologies.

What project are you involved in and what do you do?

Currently, I am in the process of being reallocated to a new project since my previous project with Power Pages has concluded. In the meantime, I am focusing on improving my career with new certifications and courses on the latest Microsoft technologies.

Where do you live and what do you like to do in your free time? Is there any curiosity about you?

I live with my wife in Viseu. At the moment, it's just the two of us, but we plan to get a dog soon. In my free time, I have plenty of hobbies. I enjoy playing video games, board games, soccer, basketball, watching sports, playing the guitar, reading books, traveling, and keeping up with the latest movies and series. An interesting fact about me is that I used to play basketball for seven years, participating in national and international competitions.

What do you expect from the future?

My career plan is to become an increasingly skilled professional at Luza, focusing on individual and team improvements, both in hard and soft skills, to achieve my personal goal of becoming a coordinator/manager of development teams.

I strongly believe we are! It was one of the aspects that caught my eye about Luza, seeing how our leadership envisions and builds the company and its employees, always prioritizing everyone's satisfaction and delivering well to clients.
