Interview with Rui Nunes

...

Today we invite you to meet Rui Nunes, .NET Developer at Luza!

How did Luza come into your life and why did you choose us to develop your career?

Before joining Luza, I had experience working in both small and large companies. Each had its advantages and disadvantages, but I ultimately decided that my next company should be small. I enjoy the comfort of being able to speak with everyone without the bureaucracy that comes with larger organizations.

My first experience at Luza was with Nelson, Rita, and Eva. I met everyone, and they presented me with a very interesting project, unlike anything I had worked on before. This led me to ask many questions, and everyone was eager to help me understand the full scope of the project. From the start, I had a great experience because I felt very comfortable talking to them, and I knew that if an offer was ever on the table, I would have to seriously consider it.

What is your opinion about remote work and why do you think it is a good option?

One of the main reasons I decided to join Luza was the opportunity for remote work. I have been working remotely for the past three years, and it has been a game changer. Since starting remote work, I have had the time to go to the gym, take my pets for walks whenever needed, be at home to receive deliveries, and more.

What project are you involved in and what do you do?

The project that led me to Luza was with Amdax, a financial services company based in Amsterdam specializing in cryptocurrency investment and management. I joined Amdax as a backend developer, bringing extensive experience in C#.

How did the onboarding process go?

Like any company, the onboarding process at Luza and Amdax has its difficulties. While everyone is very supportive, accessing the necessary information can be challenging. Sometimes you need permission, or you simply don't know where to find it. However, these issues are normal in the beginning, and you eventually get used to them. This period also provides the perfect opportunity to engage with new co-workers and get to know them better.

Where do you live and what do you like to do in your free time? Is there any curiosity about you?

I'm from Montijo, located on the south side of the Tejo River (Margem Sul). In my free time, I enjoy taking on new challenges, whether from a professional standpoint or a personal perspective. Over the past three years, I decided to start going to the gym, and I haven't missed a day since. Recently, I've also been participating in more adventurous sports, such as scuba diving, skydiving, motocross, and many others. I've always had a passion for adrenaline-filled activities.
